Recyclable aluminum is often delivered in compacted bales for efficient transport, cans, profiles, sheets and aluminum components pressed into dense bales. A baled aluminum shredding plant breaks up and shreds these bales, turning them into a free, uniform and clean fraction, prepared for remelting in aluminum furnaces or for further separation from contaminants. It is necessary because compacted bales cannot be remelted directly: their uneven density and the air trapped inside create furnace problems (uneven melting, oxidation, material loss as dross). Shredding breaks the bale into a free fraction with controlled density and size, optimizing melting and aluminum recovery yield.
